The senior Ruby on Rails lead will work with a creative university team to develop web-based and multimedia environments that foster collaborative learning and civic engagement worldwide; serve as liaison with web technology firms; develop social networking tools and other applications that advance project goals; maintain and refine existing Dragonfly collaborative web platform; deploy/maintain Ruby on Rails applications in development, staging and production Linux systems with Subversion and Capistrano; with closely with university IT staff; manage and instruct computer science students in a consulting environment; assist students with external contracts; negotiate project agreements; manage necessary resources.

First Question
|
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or related area; extensive experience with Ruby on Rails, Rails application deployment and maintenance with Capistrano and Subversion; logical/physical database development and design (MySQL, Oracle); HTML/CSS; familiarity with Macintosh environments, also PC, and Linux environments; commitment to working in a team environment; outstanding oral/written communication and critical problem-solving skills; excellent management and organizational skills; attention to detail; willingness to develop new skills.
