Job Description The senior Ruby on Rails lead will work with a creative university team to develop web-based and multimedia environments that foster collaborative learning and civic engagement worldwide; serve as liaison with web technology firms; develop social networking tools and other applications that advance project goals; maintain and refine existing Dragonfly collaborative web platform; deploy/maintain Ruby on Rails applications in development, staging and production Linux systems with Subversion and Capistrano; with closely with university IT staff; manage and instruct computer science students in a consulting environment; assist students with external contracts; negotiate project agreements; manage necessary resources.   Please describe the job you are offering. First Question Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or related area; extensive experience with Ruby on Rails, Rails application deployment and maintenance with Capistrano and Subversion; logical/physical database development and design (MySQL, Oracle); HTML/CSS; familiarity with Macintosh environments, also PC, and Linux environments; commitment to working in a team environment; outstanding oral/written communication and critical problem-solving skills; excellent management and organizational skills; attention to detail; willingness to develop new skills.   This is used to prioritize the candidates. Second Question Desire: experience with management, project development, and Linux systems administration; experience working with learning environments (e.g. virtual environments, social networks, data acquisition tools, games); Master's degree in Computer Science; interest in science, the environment, and civic engagement; desire to learn new skills in a university setting; graphic, video, and interactive content development.   This is used to prioritize the candidates.
